Bill oversees underwriting operations in North America, the UK, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions. With more than 20 years of experience as a leader in the transactional risk insurance sector as an underwriter, broker and lawyer, his focus includes representations & warranties, tax insurance, and contingent liability insurance products. From 2011, Bill led the Mergers & Acquisitions Group in North America for Willis Towers Watson, growing the brokerage practice to become a leader in the market. Previously, he headed managing general agents M&A Risk Solutions and Transaction Risk Solutions for over a decade.

WILLIAM Monat: Focus – M&A carriers see upside in more flexible approach to Covid coverage
Robert underwrites a variety of complex transactional liability risks for Mosaic. Previously, he was a forensic accountant at KPMG for 11 years, responsible for transactional-related disputes, including breaches of representation and warranty claims, net working capital and earnout disputes, and other insurance issues. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified in Financial Forensics, and Certified Fraud Examiner.
Edwin works with our Singapore team to build Mosaic’s M&A business in the Asia-Pacific. He previously spent three years at AIG, where he was responsible for underwriting transactional liability insurance in the region. Prior, he was a director at Aon’s transaction risks team for more than six years.
Keith develops M&A business for Mosaic across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with a focus on the UK. A solicitor, he trained at a global construction, real estate, and minerals company, with a focus on corporate, commercial and real-estate law. He previously worked in the W&I/RWI market at CFC Underwriting and Aviva, and has experience in both European and US domestic transactional insurance deals.
Stavan guides Mosaic’s underwriting team in North America. Previously, he was a senior underwriter for AIG, with a focus on transitional risk insurance for complex M&A and secondary transactions. Prior, he served as a senior attorney at Schulte Roth & Zabel, where he concentrated his domestic and cross-border practice on private equity, M&A, leveraged buyouts, and alternative asset management transactions.
Ze’ev assesses and writes a a broad array of tax risks, advising Mosaic’s transactional liability team. Previously, he spent six years as a tax lawyer at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, where he focused on fund formation, opportunity zones, cross-border inversions, and other complex tax issues.
Will leads Mosaic’s tax-liability underwriting outside North America, from both a specific risk and a transactional risk support perspective. He has 18 years of professional experience, focused primarily on cross-border, transactional,and structural tax matters. Until 2020, he held senior advisory roles at several international law firms, advising high-profile corporate, financial services and investment fund clients on a full spectrum of complex tax issues. More recently, Will spent more than two years in a leading role on an insurance tax liability team, focussed on European tax and contingent risks.
Griffin graduated from Binghamton University, New York, with a Bachelor of Science in Finance in May 2021. Previously, he interned as a commercial real-estate intern at Savills in 2018 and ’19.
Fran is a member of our international transactional liability team, advising on complex and multi-jurisdictional transactions across Europe, including Central and Eastern Europe and Southeast Europe. With a decade of experience, she brings a wealth of deal, multi-sector, and jurisdictional-specific expertise to our underwriting. Prior to insurance, she practiced as a regional transactional specialist (advocate) with international law firm CMS in Prague, Czech Republic, regularly advising insurers on M&A transactions across a number of regions.
Andrew is a member of Mosaic’s M&A unit in London, concentrating on development of the company’s transactional liability business outside North America. With over a decade of experience advising on and underwriting M&A transactions, he previously was a senior underwriter at AIG focused on providing insurance for M&A deals across the UK, Europe and emerging markets. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at city law firm Travers Smith, where he trained and qualified as a solicitor before progressing to senior counsel in the corporate M&A team.

Brian supports Mosaic’s transactional liability business growth in North America, specializing in complex M&A risks. He worked previously as an associate in the New York office of law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where he represented private-equity sponsors in a variety of domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. A graduate of Cornell Law School, NY, he also holds an LLM from Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and a Master’s degree from St. John’s College, MD.
Barbie underwrites complex domestic and international mergers and acquisitions risks as a member of Mosaic’s North American transactional liability team. Previously, she was a senior corporate counsel for global job site Indeed.com, where she advised on M&A and venture capital investments. Before that, she was vice president at Berkley Transactional for more than four years, where she negotiated and marketed representations and warranties insurance policies. She has also worked as an M&A attorney at Winston & Strawn in New York and a corporate attorney at Foley Hoag in Boston.
Jon advises Mosaic’s transactional liability team, overseeing underwriting decisions on tax risks arising in North America, the UK, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. He has 14 years of experience as a tax lawyer, most recently as a partner in Dentons US, based in New York City and Washington, DC. His work has focused on cross-border transactions and structures, including mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and expansions, counseling issuers on the treatment of various financial instruments, as well as advising insurance underwriters on tax risks in connection with specialty policies.
Yuqi has a Finance degree from Baruch College, New York. She’s now pursuing a Master’s in Data Analytics at Baruch, and expects to graduate in June 2022. She also sat CFA Level 1 this fall. Previously, she worked for a tax and accounting firm as a staff accountant, preparing and examining financial statements.
Ignacio completed his Master in Corporate Finance degree at Bayes Business School, University of London, where most of his research involved analysing cross-border and cross-industry M&A transactions. Before joining Mosaic, he was a graduate manager at Amazon, working in a logistics division launching a delivery station as a member of a senior leadership team. He also completed internships with Deloitte and a Swiss wealth-management firm.

Matteo is helping to build Mosaic’s M&A business in North America, specifically focusing on underwriting, as well as developing the company’s operational infrastructure and team of analysts. Previously, he was a senior analyst at AIG in its M&A insurance group. Before that, he also completed post-grad internships in the P&C and specialty resinsurance spheres.
Edward underwrites M&A transactional liability risks for Mosaic. Previously, he was vice president at Berkley Transactional, responsible for negotiating and marketing representations and warranties and related transactional insurance policies. Prior to that, he was an M&A associate at Cleary Gottlieb and Schulte Roth & Zabel.
Ciaran is a member Mosaic’s international transactional liability team and develops business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with a focus on the UK. Previously, he worked at AIG for more than three years as an underwriter on M&A deals across UK, Europe, and emerging markets. He also had a brief secondment to the AIG cyber team. Prior to that, he spent two years at Chubb in its international transactional liability team.
Casey is a member of Mosaic’s US M&A deal team, analysing operational and economic facets of legal agreements. He previously practiced corporate law as an associate attorney at Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe in New York, and Chipman Mazzucco Emerson in Danbury, CT. At both firms, he represented clients in purchase or sale of businesses throughout all stages of transactions.
Sami is a member of Mosaic’s international transactional liability team, advising on multi-jurisdictional transactions outside North America. With a decade of experience advising on M&A deals, he previously worked in the corporate law teams of Travers Smith in London and Hogan Lovells in Dubai, before serving as associate general counsel at WorldRemit, leading a team on corporate and commercial transactions.
Melissa supports the build-out of cyber, financial institutions, and transactional liability lines, with a focus on opportunities distributed through the Bermuda market. She previously worked at Liberty Specialty Markets Bermuda as an underwriter on the financial lines and special risk teams, and has experience writing the full suite of FI and TL products.
With a Master of Science in Finance & Investment Banking from Nottingham Trent University, UK, Vladislàva previously worked as a corporate banking associate at UniCredit, Bulgaria, managing a client portfolio in its large corporate clients department. Prior to full-time work, she completed a five-month internship with the firm.

Matthew graduated from Oxford Brookes University, UK, in 2022 with a BSc in Economics, Finance, and International Business. At university, he was involved in his academic community, leading a society that organized talks and seminars to connect students with entrepreneurs. He also interned for a boutique accounting and consulting practice in Turin, Italy, where he worked on acquisitions of Italian SMEs.
Eileen underwrites complex and multi-faceted M&A risks to develop Mosaic’s transactional liability business in the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) region. She previously underwrote warranty and indemnity insurance for the M&A group at RiskPoint. Prior to that, she served as a corporate associate at international law firms Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Latham & Watkins in Frankfurt, specialising in advising private equity and public and strategic clients on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, investments, joint ventures, co-investments and management incentives.
Katherine plays an integral role in leading innovative and consistent underwriting execution across the M&A insurance portfolio at Mosaic. She previously served as a senior transactional risk insurance underwriter at Everest Insurance. Katherine also brings nearly a decade of experience representing public and private-equity clients in a wide range of complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions at White & Case and Torys.
Sam manages Mosaic’s transactional liability underwriting team outside of the Americas. He has advised on or underwritten in excess of 500 transactions globally across EMEA and APAC, and previously was head of London and emerging markets at Liberty GTS. Prior to insurance, he practiced as a corporate M&A solicitor in London at Nabarro LLP (now CMS), where he advised clients on private and public M&A transactions across multiple sectors.
Spencer is focused on building Mosaic’s M&A business outside North America. He joins from re/insurer Ambridge, where he spent four years and was responsible for underwriting international transactions, specialising in complex, multi-jurisdictional deals. He is a chartered accountant, and practiced at PwC for five years, providing financial and risk assurance services to FTSE 100 companies, before joining the insurance industry.
Benn heads up Mosaic’s Asia office and leads the company’s transactional liability business in the Asia-Pacific region. He has lived and worked for more than 15 years in Asia, specializing in the M&A insurance sector. Before joining the industry in 2015, he was a corporate and private M&A solicitor for Ashurst LLP and in-house counsel for telecoms company Ooredoo.
Justin graduated from Binghamton University, New York, with his BBA in finance and minor in economics. He interned as a reinsurance broker at Aon Service Corporation in 2020 and joined Mosaic in July 2021. He completed his IASSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) to learn about streamlining processes in the workplace.
Vivian worked as a private equity intern at an investment bank, working on raising capital for a startup. Vivian got a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Baruch Zicklin School of Business, NY, and is now pursuing a Master of Science in Business Analytics. She is also a certified Tableau Desktop Specialist and has passed the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) Level I exam.
Charlie focuses on complex Canadian and international M&A transaction risks for Mosaic. Previously, he worked as a corporate associate at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, representing clients in a broad range of corporate matters, including M&A and private equity transactions. He holds a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University and a Master of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
