Jim leads Mosaic’s global environmental liability division. With more than 30 years of experience working in the sector as an underwriter, broker, adviser, and engineer, his focus includes underwriting environmental risks for corporate and private-equity clients in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Previously, he established and managed SCOR’s environmental and transactional liability team. Prior, he held senior positions at Aon, Marsh, and Chubb in Europe, Bermuda, Singapore, and Australia.
Environmental risks have never been more relevant and challenging to companies as they are today.
From pollution and biodiversity damage to resource depletion and climate change, environmental risks are evolving at an unprecedented speed. The sea change is driven by greater awareness of the environmental harm companies can cause, along with higher, more exacting global standards demanded by stakeholders.
Mosaic protects clients against the risk their activities damage the environment, incurring costs and liabilities. Our suite of proprietary environmental insurance policies is customized for companies facing risks through business activities, including ownership and operation of industrial facilities, mergers and acquisitions, property developments and investments, and the provision of contracted work and advice to third parties.
We also help a wide range of financial institutions whose exposure to environmental risk may indirectly stem from lending to, investing in, or advising, third parties. Our client base is drawn from numerous industry sectors—oil and gas, metal mining, power generation, waste management, real estate, banks and private equity.
We support companies that are committed to transitioning to a more sustainable, low-carbon future.
Mosaic offers lead market coverage, along with syndicated capacity from trade partners, with a maximum limit of USD$25 million.
