Mosaic hires Warty to lead finpro lines for Americas expansion

December 8, 2025

Hamilton, Bermuda—Mosaic Insurance has hired US-based finpro executive Sachin Warty to lead global financial institutions and professional liability business as the firm prepares to expand both product lines across North America.

Based in Chicago, IL, Warty joins the specialty insurer effective December 15 as Global Head of Financial Institutions & Professional Liability (FinPro). Reporting to him will be UK-based Francesca Harland, who becomes Head of International, Professional Liability, and Jacqueline Hall-Shaw, named Head of International, Financial Institutions.

As part of the re-alignment, two other key Mosaic executives have been promoted to help drive market expansion and engagement. Former FI head Tom Dilley and Danny Clack, Deputy Active Underwriter of Mosaic Syndicate 1609, now have enhanced positions—becoming Global Head of Client Engagement and Head of Broker Engagement, International, respectively, reporting to Global Engagement Officer Yosha DeLong while retaining underwriting roles.

“We’re at an important inflection point in our growth as a company as we approach the five-year mark in 2026,” said Co-CEO Mark Wheeler. “This strategic leadership evolution is instrumental as we heighten our client engagement and expand a global finpro franchise defined by deep expertise, market-leading capability, and true value creation. We welcome Sachin to the team and commend the advancements of all these executives.”

“We’re pleased to have Sachin join us as we position Mosaic to continue its rapid strategic growth and ramp up our finpro buildout along with market engagement,” said Toby Smith, Mosaic’s CEO, Americas. “Economic volatility is driving liquidity stress, governance challenges, and increased litigation risk, making robust financial lines coverage more critical than ever and we’re ready to meet the demand.”

Warty previously co-led the US financial institutions business of Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) for the past five years. Prior, he was a lead underwriter at BHSI overseeing financial institutions business for the US Central and Western regions. He also held underwriting positions at CNA and Travelers.

“I’m thrilled to join Mosaic at such a pivotal moment,” he said. “The finpro market is evolving rapidly, and this role offers an incredible opportunity to help shape its future, while building solutions that not only meet today’s challenges but also redefine what’s possible for clients worldwide. Together with this exceptional team, I look forward to driving global strategies that anticipate emerging risks, serve clients, and set new standards for excellence across the industry.”

Launched in February 2021, Mosaic underwrites across product lines selected for high technical barriers to entry and relevance to current and projected geopolitical and economic conditions. As well as financial institutions and professional liability, the company’s specialty lines include transactional liability, cyber, political risk, political violence, and environmental liability.
